Gerardo Acevedo, Jr.

Mr. Acevedo is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech, he served as a special teams captain for the Red Raider football program — a leadership distinction voted on by both teammates and coaches. The discipline, preparation, and resilience forged through athletics now define his approach to litigation.

Gerardo has litigated complex civil matters in both state and federal courts. His experience includes successfully briefing and arguing matters before the Thirteenth Court of Appeals, prosecuting federal constitutional claims, and aggressively pursuing insurance bad faith, catastrophic injury, and commercial tort cases. He is known for meticulous preparation, analytical rigor, and a commanding courtroom presence. His strengths include strategic motion practice, discovery leverage, expert development, and persuasive trial presentation.

As part of the firm’s litigation team, Mr. Acevedo focuses on case strategy, trial preparation, mediation advocacy, and the development of advanced litigation systems designed to enhance efficiency and execution from intake through verdict.

He is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the South Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and he is fluent in both English and Spanish.
